Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the use of conventional and digital learning media on the learning interest of fifth-grade students in the IPAS subject at SD Negeri 077278 Zari-Zari. The research is based on the fact that the variation of media usage has not yet considered learning interest, particularly in schools located in 3T areas. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation.The results show that conventional learning media are consistent in enhancing and sustaining learning interest due to their active and concrete nature. Meanwhile, digital learning media are effective in triggering initial interest through visual appeal and animations, but they are highly dependent on infrastructure readiness. Therefore, in schools with limited facilities, conventional media are more adaptive and stable in supporting students learning interest in the IPAS subject.
