Analisis Literasi Lingkungan berbasis Potensi Lokal Pantai Pidakandi Wilayah Pacitan Timur

This study aims to analyze the environmental literacy level of students at an Islamic Elementary School (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) based on the local potential of Pidakan Beach in East Pacitan. Environmental literacy is assessed based on five indicators, namely environmental knowledge, environmental awareness, environmental behavior, awareness of local potential, and environmental thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive-analytical design. The research subjects were 50 fifth-grade students selected using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using descriptive statistics with the help of SPSS. The results showed that the level of environmental literacy of students was in the very high category with an index of 81.8%. In detail, the environmental thinking skills indicator obtained the highest score (84.5%), followed by environmental knowledge (82.25%), awareness of local potential (81.875%), and environmental behavior (81.375%), while the environmental awareness attitude indicator obtained the lowest score (79.125%) although still in the high category. These findings indicate that local potential-based learning is effective in improving students' environmental literacy, particularly in cognitive and thinking skills. However, strengthening attitudes still needs to be improved through habituation and ongoing involvement in environmental activities. Therefore, the utilization of local potential as a learning resource needs to be systematically developed to support the holistic strengthening of environmental literacy.
