Penerapan Word Card Game untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Menulis Permulaan Materi Pengenalan Suku Kata

The researcher's objective was to analyze the application of word card games in improving the initial writing skills of first-grade students in syllable recognition material. The type of research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research location was at Kanisius Baturetno Elementary School. The research subjects were teachers and 9 first-grade students of Kanisius Baturetno Elementary School. The sampling technique used a purposive procedure. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and tests. Data validity used technical triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis used qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the application of word card games was effective in improving students' initial writing skills in syllable recognition material. The average pre-cycle score was 72.67 with a learning completion percentage of 44.44%. In cycle 1 learning by implementing word card games, the average score increased to 76.11, resulting in an increase of 3.44. In cycle II learning, the average student score increased to 87.22 with an increase of 11.11. The learning completion percentage increased to 88.89%, indicating that the majority of students had achieved the established completion criteria.
