Pengaruh Kompetensi Komunikasi Guru dan Pengelolaan Kelas terhadap Proses Pembelajaran di SMP Negeri 2 Terusan Nunyai

Abstract

The learning process plays a critical role in developing student competence and character. However, empirical data shows that students often experience boredom, passivity, and low initiative during learning. This study aims to analyze the positive and significant influence of teacher communication competence and classroom management on the learning process at SMP Negeri 2 Terusan Nunyai. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed, using proportionate stratified random sampling to select 178 students from grades VII, VIII, and IX. Data were collected through closed questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with JASP software version 0.97. The results indicate that both teacher communication competence and classroom management have a positive and significant effect on the learning process, both partially and simultaneously. Classroom management emerged as the most dominant predictor with a regression coefficient of 0.596. The combined contribution of both variables to the learning process is 34.9%, while the remaining 65.1% is influenced by other factors outside this study. These findings emphasize the importance of empathetic communication and structural classroom management in creating an engaging, safe, and effective learning ecosystem.
